Before Hannah left for the states she gave me the following:

My dear Mother,

I know that you are concerned for us, and you have reason to be.  I want to tell you my motto for this trip,.  I hope it will be a comfort to you as it is a guide to me.  

Mr Creed

I would be true, for there are those who trust me; 

I would be pure, for there are those who care;

I would be strong, for there is much to suffer;

I would be brave, for there is much to dare.

I would be friend to all -- the poor -- the friendless;

I would be giving, and forget the gift;

I would be humble, for I know my weakness;

I would look up -- and live -- and love -- and lift.

Mother, we can trust each other in Jesus' care!

Hannah:

Grace -- I'll stay true through God's grace.

Mercy -- I'll show others His mercy.

Prayer -- I'll be constant in prayer.

Lee:

A shelter -- My shelter is sure because I have chosen Jesus as my shelter.  I will strive to lead others to this same shelter.

Corbett:  My family Name -- I will try to honour you and Daddy and bring only a good report to our name in my whole behavior.  I will try not to bring any shame to you!
