.....
Tonight at RU, my group leader wasn't there, which made me kinda upset, 'cause I always loved going to my group. So I went to another group, and there I learned something that I want to share...
"Casting all your care upon Him, for he careth for you."
-That is one verse that is read many times. I know that verse by memory, but I have never really applied it. Most of the time we cast our cares upon God, but then we tend to worry and continue to keep that problem with us. That is one thing I have to work on. There is a lady in our church who did a word-by-word study on this verse, and one way she illustrated it is like this. -
Think of back how they fished in the Bible, they had a net, which they cast out into the water, but then when they felt it get heavy, they pulled it back in. At one time, they cast it out, and others had to help them take it out.
The RU leader said it like this-
Well, first of all, she told us that she knows she really isn't that tall. When she has things to put away, she sometimes throws things to the highest shelf in the cabinet ;and she has a stick on the counter that she uses to take them down :)
That is basically what we do, we cast our cares upon Him, but we always hang on to one part of it as illustrated in the fishing story. Right now, there has been problems going on in my family, that seem to just keep getting worse and worse; I always prayed that God would have control over that situation, but I always held on to that one part. As said in the illustration that the group leader gave, God wants us to just throws all our problems, worries, and everything we're going through up to Him, and never take them down, and not to hold on to any part of it! He is the one that is in control of everything, and He sees the end of every problem. He wants to guide us through it and lead us to the end. That was something I really needed to hear, which now I know why I went to that group! :)
Tonight I prayed and casted all my cares upon Him, and I'm not holding on to that one part, and I am not trying to think about it, and I feel GREAT! :)
God is a wonderful, loving, gracious, merciful (and so much more) God, and He wants you to cast your care upon Him! :)
