So, I've been asked why I am limping around. Well, I don't really know why my foot is irritated, however, I suspect that it is from a certain pair of shoes that I own that sometimes bother my feet and at other times don't. And the problem is not new, my foot has been in pain on and off for several years.
This time, however, the tendon to my big toe was irritated and swollen, and made walking very painful. I let it rest and tried various remedies, and it was almost better when I walked for several miles during the weekend. Of course, that irritated it more, and so, because it was lingering in healing, I asked my school to take me to the dr.
They did, and after waiting for a long time (2.5 hrs) to see him, he mentioned gout. I said no. Then he mentioned tendonitis. I said yes. He looked at me weird because I seemed to already know what the problem was.
Because this is Taiwan, doctor visits are really cheap, and they always like to prescribe medicine. However, I always look it up before taking it, because you never know what random things they will prescribe. This time, for a sore foot and inflamed tendon, he gave me a NSAID (anti-inflamitory agent), an anti-acid that is for stomach problems and refulx, and tranquilizer pills. Needless to say, I was grateful that I looked up all the meds and only will be taking the first one! It was suggested, jokingly, to give the tranquilizer pills to some of my bad students!
My foot is on the mend, and I just need to rest it. Praise God that He is the Great Physician and we can always trust Him!

I am always amazed when people want antibiotics as a cure all for viruses which must run their course, for example, thus unnecessarily damaging their immune system. Meds is a really funny study.0 pointsJan wrote 794 Days Ago (neutral) 0Wow, that is interessting Laura! HaHa, tranquilizers hmmmm I could see how those could be put to good use.
