Now here we have a classic case of miscommunication! 

 A glimpse at a classic bit of daily school drama.

Ok, so………we thought that school was today (I teach English at elemtary schools in Taiwan), and so I got up at 0630 and my teacher picked me up at 0720 and after driving for 40 min, I am now at school.  I had asked God to give me an excitement about coming to school and I was and am excited!  (I really do like this school!)

0815 Well, Josie called me a few minutes ago to say that the director at Ying Pan just told the last three teachers at home that school does not start for us until NEXT Monday!  We had thought it was odd to be going on the first week of school, as we had never done that before! 

So, now I’m waiting on Ying Pan (the school where I live and the ones who tell us our schedules) to call my school and tell them that they should take me home or put me on a bus J  (The bus part is my idea…)

Pause to talk to a teacher….

0820 Panic!  “What?!?! You are not supposed to be here??  Ok, I will call Ying Pan!”  ….. I’ll delay the sending of this until the remainder of the drama unfolds J  (Personally, I am very amused!!!!!!) 

0825 A text from Zack (our team leader) reading “I think you are coming home”…still no word from my school…

0830 A teacher: “If you teach today, our school will pay you, since you are here.  Or do you want to go home?”  “I think I would like to go home.  Can someone drive me?”  Discussion in Chinese…Translation: “I can drive her.  Or someone can.” “Really?  You?” “Yes, or someone” Back to English: “Ok, someone can drive you home.”

Waiting on a ride, and checking email.  Sometimes it’s a good idea to take my laptop to school!

0920 Finally back at home, after an amusing morning!

Oh well, just a bit of daily drama, all in a day’s work!
