Reading In A Greek/English Interlinear
Reading In A Greek/English Interlinear

Have you ever done your New Testament reading in a Greek/English Interlinear of the Textus Receptus?

 http://www.scripture4all.org/OnlineInterlinear/NTpdf/mat3.pdf

I have used one in the past and thought I might enjoy reading through the New Testament in one.  Today I was reading Matthew 3 when several things caught my attention.

In verse 10 where we translate it good fruit, the interlinear gives "ideal" fruit. I began to think, "how ideal is my fruit?"  How ideal is yours?

Where we say baptized, the interlinear gives, "dip-ized".  :)  What could be more clear?

In verse 11 I found that although John was dipping people in water, Jesus would dip people in the Holy Spirit and in fire.  We are not surprized to know that we will be dipped in the Holy Spirit; but that fire--that purging fire!

Have you experienced any fire lately?  Are you like me?  I want to be purified, but I dread the fire!  We are, however, encouraged by the vision of the fourth man in the fire with Hananiah, Mishael and Azariah.  I know that when I am dipped in the fire, God is there.

I know that what He has begun in me He will complete, and I am SO GLAD!

What great points! I have never done any reading at all in a Greek/English Interlinear of the Textus Receptus.  Those are really neat things you have pointed out.  Why were the words changed in the King James?
